Copenhagen Reuters...Women may be able to fool their partners by faking orgasm but a brain scanner will catch them out every time, a conference heard on monday.

Researchers at the university of Groningen {Holland} have used scans to show that different areas of the brain are stimulated during an orgasm but are not activated when a woman fakes it. "Women can imitate orgasm quite well Gert Holstege told a fertility meeting on monday but there's nothing happening in the brain..I could have told him that and saved your man the effort....He and colleagues took brain scans of 13 women and 11 men, aged 19-49 who had volunteered, while they were being sexually stimulated by their partner and during orgasm and compared them to images of their brains at rest. When women genuinely achieved orgasm areas of the brain involved in fear and emotion were deactivated. Those areas stayed alert whenever the women were faking it...
hehehe wonder how they got people to do that? after all, i can't imagine you could quite have the same experience knowing that your brain was being scanned at the time .. "ok you two just carry on, we'll just be right here " ...

and how do they know that the bit of the brain that reacted didn't actually react when the woman was faking it, maybe it didn't react when actual orgasm was achieved .... "ok, this time, I want you to fake it", ... grin

Good thing most people don't have brain scanners in their bedrooms. I think a lot of men would be surprised and disappointed.

But we girls are under the impression, or so it seems, that men never fake orgasm. Some, apparently, can. Anyway I think women should be left with our secvrets. We know that fear and emotion are not present when an orgasm is real. Isn't that enough?
Their women's heads were kept immobile in the scanner, but they could roll around ect, while their parther did the necessary......
Angel & Devil I wonder how long these relationships will last, now the men are aware of their partner's talent for fakery ..this kind of nonsense could really affect a man's self esteem..
SB..the scientists discovered that when a true orgasm was achieved the women had given themselves totally to their partner...when they faked it, they were tense and not completely at ease, as you would have to be to achieve an orgasm...
ah but maybe they were tense because they had their head clamped in a brain scanner - i think that might certainly affect my ability to achieve .. in that department ...

Well Goblin, I know the male ego is fragile, but I think most women who fake orgasm do it to preserve their man's ego. Most of us don't want the man to feel bad if he can't satisfy us, so we fake it and tell him he is great.
